Clear, very fast-curing two-component epoxy adhesive with a high strength resistant to fuel, solvents and vibrations. Once fully cured, it is easy to sand. It does not become brittle with age. It bonds wood, glass laminate, carbon composite, aluminum, copper, steel, brass, concrete, glass, hard plastics, expanded polystyrene, etc.

Characteristics

  • Mixing ratio of components: 1:1 (by volume and weight)
  • Initial color: clear
  • Final color: clear
  • Viscosity (after mixing): 5000–10000 mPa.s
  • Working time (for gelling): approx. 5 min (20 °C to 25 °C)
  • Bonded parts can be loaded: after 15–20 minutes
  • Half firmness: after 10–15 minutes
  • Full strength: after 2–3 hours
  • Full curing: 16–24 hours
  • Minimum shear strength: 20 N/mm²
  • Temperature resistance of the adhesive bond: -40 °C to +120 °C

Removing excess uncured adhesive: Cloth or paper tissue moistened with spirit.

Glue thinning: Thinner for epoxy paints S6300 (the use of thinners prolongs the curing time and reduces the final strength of the bond - if you need a "thinner" epoxy adhesive, use the epoxy adhesive for laminating or finishing with a lower viscosity).

It will serve as a filler, suitable fillers: Microballoon filler, talc, baby powder, diatomaceous earth, fine balsa or linden sawdust, chopped glass fibers. Caution - the addition of a filler can reduce working time by up to 25% and (depending on the type and amount of filler used) reduce the strength of the joint.

Suitable for gluing: of soft and hard wood, chipboard, plywood, metal, expanded polystyrene, ceramics, porcelain, glass and carbon laminates, glass and carbon fabrics and fibers.

Not suitable for gluing: of soft and flexible plastics (including EPP and EPO), polyethylene, Teflon.

Storage: In a tightly closed package, cool, dry and dark (at temperatures between 10 °C and 25 °C). Do not expose the glue to temperatures below 10 °C. Be careful not to mix up the resin and hardener caps - even a small amount of hardener can degrade a large amount of resin.

Life: If the conditions for proper storage are observed, we guarantee the shelf life in the original, unopened packaging for a period of 1 year while maintaining the above-mentioned product properties. Practical experience shows that the epoxy resins based on bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin retain perfect properties for many years when properly stored (see also note 2). If you buy a package of glue suitable for your use, you practically do not have to "pay attention" to its shelf life.

Note 1: The curing of the glue depends mainly on the ambient temperature. If you mix a large amount of epoxy glue at once (usually more than 20-30 g), it can harden much faster. To maintain a longer working time, the glue must be cooled, for example in a water bath. This is due to the fact that heat is released during the reaction of the resin and the hardener, and at the same time the resin hardens faster at higher temperatures. And because with increasing volume, the weight of the resin (and hence the amount of heat generated) increases faster than the size of the external surface from which the heat is released to the environment, a larger amount of resin heats up faster and it hardens faster. The cube with a side of 1 cm has a volume of 1 cm³ and a surface area of 6 cm² - a ratio of 6:1, while the cube with a side of 2 cm has a volume of 8 cm³ and a surface area of 24 cm² - a ratio of only 3:1.

Note 2: Initially clear and fairly liquid epoxy resins based on bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin can sometimes thicken (sugary like a bee's honey) and lose transparency - this is due to low temperatures, humidity or time. By carefully heating in hot water (60-70 °C) for a few minutes until the resin becomes clear again in its entire volume, you can get the resin "like new" again with its original properties.
