Mylaps RC4 Transponder Black
It's lighter. It's smaller. It's all black.
AMB RC4 Pro Transponder from "My Laps Sports Timing" - the absolute standard in the field of timekeeping at RC car events!
- EVEN lighter. (approx. 3g total weight).
- EVEN smaller. (approx. 25% smaller).
- FINALLY black.
- FINALLY with a short cable. (Cable length without plug approx. 70mm)
At racing events, a transponder is now required from the driver as personal property.
For beginners, many organizers also offer rental transponders so that you don't have to make this investment at first.
AMB's personal transponders are permanently installed in your car and are actively supplied with power via the receiver. Each transponder has a unique number. This number is transmitted to the timing computer when you drive through the time loop and your lap times are measured to an accuracy of 1/1000 of a second.
What is the difference between the RC4 / RC4 Pro and the RC4-Hybrid transponder?
The RC4 hybrid transponder transmits the old predecessor RC3 signal in addition to the RC4 signal.
This means that the hybrid transponders can be used on racetracks that use the current RC4 decoder technology as well as on racetracks that still use the old RC3 decoder technology.
Currently (as of summer 2017), all major racetracks have already converted their systems to RC4. RC3 has been clearly outdated for years. However, there are still organizers - especially small racetracks that host few races - who still use an RC3 decoder.
With a pure RC4 / RC4 Pro transponder, NO time can be taken there.
The RC4 Pro transponder also only sends a pure RC4 signal.
You can distinguish RC4, RC4 Pro and RC4-Hybrid transponders at first glance:
- RC4: 3-connector cable, black, red, white
- RC4-Hybrid: 2-connector cable, black, red
- RC4 Pro: black
